Translations
From BotConnect Wiki
We respectfully request that documentation and software originating in the Japanese language be converted to English by actual humans who can speak culturally-correct English. Machine-generated translations are a problem since they are indecipherable and cause confusion. We can only believe that the translated docs we are seeing are done programmatically, as the translations are so bad, no proud Japanese would consider themselves a translator with such poor skils. If Japanese manufacturers think they are providing a usable documentation tools with the automated translations, they are incorrect.
In addition, considering these flawed documents to be adequate for English use is an insult. The English-speaking audience for these products deserves docs that we do not have to fight with. Our belief is that most English speakers have great respect for the Japanese language, and would consider it offensive if we translated English to the Japanese equivalent of the horrible gibberish we are receiving.
If a document requires translation, and suitable resources are not available to the Manufacturer in Japan, contact us and we will find suitable quality translation services. In the long run, paying for quality translation will bring so many more customers that it will more than pay for the small cost.
What is even more frustrating is to work with software that has been automatically translated. The minimal effort required to do a proper, culturally-appropriate translation of the few labels and terms in software itself allows no excuse for automated translation.
